Dhanush was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and he has completed his schooling in Thai Sathya Matriculation high school. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Computer Application from Madurai Kamraj University. He has done distance education.
Later, he got into movies. His debut movie was Thulluvadho Ilamai directed by his father in 2002. Then, he did a film in 2003 directed by his brother. Eventually, he made his own mark in the South Film Industry.
